Three different wines from three different regions: Réserve du Chevalier Crémant de Bourgogne (Burgundy, France), Luca Ferraris del Martin Barbera d’Asti DOCG (Piedmont, Italy) & Burgum Novum Pinot Nero Riserva (Alto Adige, Italy). Varietals A to Z -- Falanghina
Most Falanghina is grown in Campania (near Naples in southern Italy) with a bit grown in Puglia & Abruzzo. The vines thrive in the porous volcanic soils around Mount Vesuvius (pictured) and the warm Mediterranean climate.
Tasting Notes: Citrus-blossom, bitter orange aromas with classic apple and pear richness and spicy, mineral finish. Pairings: Pizza with pear, walnuts, gorgonzola; Crispy orange beef with steamed broccoli; Baked chicken thighs with roasted red peppers

It might seem like it is all Sangiovese- but come taste the difference! From the villages of Montalcino, Chianti Colli Senesi and Maremma- Sangiovese couldn't be expressed more differently. We will taste Scopone Rosso di Montalcino, Nottola Chianti Colli Senesi (vineyards pictured) & Santa Lucia a'Luciano Maremma. Hope you can stop by!
Saturday's Tasting -- Wine Tour of Spain (12-4pm)
Many people think of Spain as Rioja or Sherry, but that overlooks the vast beauty and diversity that this wine producing country presents. Portalis owner Jens Strecker will be sharing some of his favorite treasures: Bodegas Maset (Nu) Cava (Penedès), Bodegas Casto Pequeño Verdejo (Casilla y Léon) & Bodegas Rauda Crianza (Ribera del Duero).
